Lucretia Robinson's Needlebook: PDF download
A PDF download for the chart Lucretia Robinson’s Needlebook. Originally designed for the Attic’s Summer School 2024, this needlebook combines full crosses over two, crosses over one, backstitch, wrapped backstitch, and lazy daisy stitch to capture the feel of its inspiration piece, the 20th wedding anniversary china of my great great great grandparents. Chosen by Lucretia, and gifted by friends and family, the china commemorated 20 years of marriage for a couple who had endured a war, many years of separation, and a life altering injury.
Lucretia Robinson Bray was an ordinary woman living in rural Illinois during the 19th century - her legacy was with those who knew her, was never written down, and was sadly lost once she had passed beyond living memory. Unlike the well documented life and military service of her husband, Thomas Bray, we know very little about her life or those whose lives she touched during her own. This piece was my design to honor Lucretia, a woman who loved for better, for worse, for richer, and for poorer.
The chart is in full color and includes a full alphabet so that you can personalize your own needlebook to honor the women of your own family. Please note that it is not suitable for stitching on Aida due to the stitches used.
