Notebook: the Mower & his love

$16.00

This custom printed notebook features the two lovers Damon and Juliana from my stumpwork mirror, sitting under embroidered trees. The mirror was inspired by Andrew Marvell’s mower poem cycle, quoted in the interior front cover:

“My mind was once the true survey, of all these meadows fresh and gay; And in the greenness of the grass, did see its hopes as in a glass.”

The same quote appears on the back of my stumpwork mirror, pointing at the story of the piece. With detailed printing allowing you to see the details of the stitching and workmanship, the Mower notebook is a chance to own a small piece of a large, signature stumpwork finish.

The notebook has 50 pages and measures approximately 9” x 4.25”, following the proportions of the doors on the original stumpwork mirror - perfect for keeping lists of your own projects (or very fancy grocery lists).
